Public transport options*

Buses
We would be pleased to advise guests on timetables, fares & approximate journey times on request. It’s a round-about route, but it is possible to travel by public transport to Ravello from Naples, via Sorrento, Positano & Amalfi - recommended only if you are planning stop-overs at any of these resorts. In any event, the bus itinerary is as follows…

(1) From Naples/Capodichino Airport – public bus (No 14) or airport shuttle bus to the city centre bus & train termini.
(2) From Naples Termini – train or bus to Salerno
(3) From Salerno – bus to Amalfi terminus or nearer junction at Castiglione (ask the driver!)
(4) From Amalfi/Castiglione – bus up the mountain to Ravello. (Terminus outside the hotel.)
*NOTE: Journey time – 2 to 3 hours, depending on time of day & connections.

Ferry boat
This is a recommended, very pleasant, seasonal option (April/May thru September/ into October, depending on the weather.)
Itinerary: (1) Public bus from Capodichino Airport to the Port of Naples: (2) scheduled ferry to Amalfi; (3) (SITA) bus up to Ravello, every half hour except around lunch-time.

Private transfers
Most of our guests opt for this easiest, quickest & most comfortable transfer to the hotel. If requested in advance, The Garden could arrange for a driver – with name-board aloft - to meet guests at the airport and bring them to the hotel (c. one hour) in a Mercedes or similar saloon or mini-bus*. Pick-up is also arranged at Salerno train station, or the bus termini.
*A taxi hired in Ravellos is somewhat less expensive option than taking a Naples’ cab at the airport.

Car rental
Hire cars are available at Naples Airport, best reserved in advance. The normal route to Ravello is a little tricky, including crossing a mountain pass (the Valico di Chiunzi), which may be closed in bad weather. Allow an hour & a half for the drive of c. 35 miles (50 km.) On request, The Garden would be glad to email route notes.

Parking
A few metered parking spaces are located outside or close to the hotel for a temporary stop until we can assist with longer-term, free parking
